Benefits of Intermittent Fasting for Women

Benefits of Intermittent Fasting for Women

When we talk about intermittent fasting (IF), we usually think about weight loss. Indeed, it's a very good way to get rid of those extra pounds but that's not the only benefit.

Before we talk about the benefits, let's talk about what is intermittent fasting first. To make it simple, it means that you don't eat for a period of time each day or week.

You can choose different schedules depending on what your goals are. You can learn more about my IF schedules if you click here. The most popular is the 16:8, which means you fast for 16 hours in a day and eat your meals during the other 8 hours window.

This being said, let's talk about the benefits of IF:

As we mentioned before, the main benefit of IF is weight loss but it's not limited to that. These are other benefits of the correct application of IF:

- It can lower diabetes risk
- May improve heart health
- May help reduce blood pressure
- May help prevent Alzheimer’s
- It can reduce gut inflammation
- It promotes autophagy
- It helps balance your hormones

These are just a few benefits of IF. Remember to talk to your doctor BEFORE trying this "diet". You need to find the right schedule for you according to your needs and hormonal situation. This might not work for everyone.
